USGBC Ambassador

Job Description

The Chapter has several events throughout the year which needs volunteers to represent the Chapter and share the impact of our mission. Some of these events include: BuildingEnergy (the NESEA Conference), Boston GreenFest, Massachusetts Green Careers & Sustainability Conference, Sustainability Round Table, New England Facility and Building Manager Expo and more. The Chapter welcomes those new to the industry and excited about green building and others more experience in the industry. 


  • CE Hours:  USGBC Ambassadors will be awarded 1 CE hour per hour of volunteer work for up to 50% of your total CE hours.
  • Letters of Recommendation are available from the Executive Director for outstanding service.
  • Ambassadors who serve at 6 or more events a year are eligible for a complimentary Chapter membership
  • Ambassadors who serve at more than 12 events a year are eligible for a  complimentary Green Associate Exam Prep session

Time Commitment

  • Depending on the type of event, Ambassador events can last from 3 to 8 hours. Events are usually on the weekends and serve as a great way to connect with people in the industry
  • We ask that Ambassadors be available for an event every month (inquire about exceptions)



  • Ability to attend Outreach Committee meetings or to sustain contact with staff or Outreach Committee members
  • Ability to communicate with green building professionals
  • Punctuality and reliability for events
  • Ability to have fun and hang with awesome sustainability professionals!


  • Background in building memberships through face to face interaction
  • Knowledge of the LEED, Living Buildings, WELL or GRESB systems
