Existing Buildings

Our Existing Buildings Committee is working to support the greening of commercial buildings and the utilization best green building practices in the existing building sector.

The goal of the Existing Buildings Committee within the USGBC Massachusetts Chapter is to address the greater life-span and supporting community of the buildings of Greater Boston and throughout the state.

We wish to include the larger group of professionals that are involved in the ongoing upkeep and operation of our buildings. That inclusion extends to; discussion of best practices, exchange of ideas, education, collaboration and a greater role for the stewards of our existing supply of properties within the chapter.

 

The group is Chaired by Laura Barnatt of TA Realty and the Board Liaison is Chris Liston of CBRE.

 

Programs of the Existing Buildings Committee include

  • Support of LEED education for facilities professionals
  • Support of the GPRO O+M certificate program in Massachusetts
  • Facilitating the utilization of ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and building energy disclosure requirements
  • Networking among facilities professionals
  • Tours of green buildings
